Sounds like you're advocating that people stay with the herd.  A sheep that gets lost will often meet a violent death at the hands of a wolf.  The herd, however, is protected by the shepherd.

Pretty much, based on loss of control in ones loneliness, isn't this why the herd rarely question authority?

That's your claim, but I am not convinced that herds rarely question authority.  I'm pretty convinced that humans almost universally question authority.  Further, they almost universally think that they are the only ones questioning authority.

Some might tell their boss to go fuck himself, late at night in bed with the wife. Maybe they question to some extents but it's more about accepting the circumstances with no further desire to change things. What happens if you question authority? Obviously you do not fit in with the model of the masses and become vulnerable.

I disagree.  I think almost everyone questions authority.  A somewhat smaller amount challenge authority, and even a smaller amount challenge authority to the point where they suffer consequences...

Still, I don't know a human being that doesn't question authority.

I agree with this, challenging fit more than questioning. What type of challenge would not risk your position and which would risk your position?

Still, I don't know a human being that doesn't question authority.

As an example, I am thinking about Christians deeply questioning their pastor preaching.
