C. formosus? I'm trying to better learn the various western yellow chanterelles.

It's so, so, so much easier just to call them all the chanterelle.

I've also found tons of C. cascadensis today, but they're all cut up and frozen now, sorry.

Will take pictures of them and post when I go back for more next week.

I found some oysters on a walk earlier, I will try and get around to posting pics as they were pretty prime, wen I go back for more I will try and bring a better camera, or someone who has one xD and take some habitat shots and such. I am spore printing the ones I already picked now and I was wondering how best to spread said spores around? Could I put them in a spray bottle of water? Thanks for any info

You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by

I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me

I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

You can do that. It is very hard to say how much success it will show.

You can take your oyster trimmings -praticularly those from the bases- and place them in the soil against the bases of snag trees, or in gaps in the bark of recently downed trees.

you can also make your own spawn from these on prepared chips or dowels, or pieces of damp cardboard, and dramatically multiply the amount of inoculant you have to work with.

Of course, you don't have to inoculate only trees. you can inoculate piles of chipped wood left aside by road crews, landscaping, etc.

Sounds like what I do with my chanterelle trimmings & rejects. I've got a douglas fir tree in 2' planter and that's where I chuck all the leftovers. I'm training it to grow chanterelles. :crazy2:

Made a killing on the winter chanterelles and candy caps yesterday.  Also found my first decent boletus mirabilis and a bunch of l. rubrilacteus.

I roam a little on my lunchbreaks at work.  I saw these today growing in woodchips near a dead stump.  They were larger than ones I've seen before.  They were about the size of an ear or golfball.

This was already about the size of a grapefruit.  I thought it was a puffball but it looks like veil remnants on the cap like an Amanita shows.  So?

Now... this Chanterelle came in with the fresh batch at the natural market I work at.  It's a MONSTER!  It looks to have started as a clump of 2 or 3 stalks but then was stunted and spazzed out, haha.  There are dozens of little off-shoots with false-gills.  Very odd...
