Blueing on cakes where touched

I picked up one of my cakes the other day and it seems to be bluing on the mycelium cake. I'm not sure if a cake can bruise or what but if it is mold what should I do. The fruits are coming out really nice and looking completely healthy. And another question I can eat the fruits as long as it's not directly on the fruits correct?

Mis-print lol. Yeah I didn't know that cakes could bruise. But makes sense since it's bruising at the site I picked it up at. Thank you guys!

First time grower here.
I got spooked real bad when I first saw blue/green on my cakes. I was ready to throw them but decided to do some searching. Many people recommend doing a q-tip test when in doubt. Mean green comes off while bruising doesn't. The q-tip test will occasionally give false positives but a negative test means you can definitely rest easy. Mean green should look almost sand-like and be on top of the mycelium. I gleaned most of this from posts by RR.

Yep that's right contams will mostly be another layer on top of the mycelium while bruising is right on in there.

Agreed. Be extremly gentle when handling your cakes. While bruisin.isnt exactly harmfull, its not a good thing either.

I'm almost certain that bruising isn't bad or good. It just happens because of the psilocybin.

Yes quite right. But it happens from damage to the cakes. Weather from handling or drying out or some other reason. Since the OP said it was where they were handled, i assume this is the reason. Hence why I said be gentle. And if i remember right, the bluing is from psilosin breaking down into psilocybin. Mite not have spelled them right, but i hope the OP gets it.

More hypothesis on said "Blueing,"
It is caused by rubbing and pushing of mycelium and mushrooms. Said to be psylocibin degenerating to psylocin. Can only be caused by ripping/tearing/breaking of cell walls within the organism, SINCE THAT the organism does not do it unless it is handled and/or dried, and the organism generates the chemicals stably in an untouched natural world.
again i reinstate, HYPOTHESIS. hope it helps.

Ah, yea. I remember last time i did cakes i had all of mine basically covered fully in blue. From touching, misting, dunking and bumping into stuff, etc.. lol they were REALLY potent though.

No, it is not said to be that.....there is no scientific evidence of this.
