Simple, Inexpensive Single Fruiting Chamber

I have recently been looking into single, "personal" fruiting chambers. And I have found the perfect mini fruiting chamber.
Its a Arrowhead 1 gallon water bottle. They are hard to find in my town, but one store here has them, Walmart Market. Each gallon bottle is only a dollar!
Heres some pics for ya. Enjoy.

So, what do you guys think? Maybe it could use improvement? Im open to it.

That looks very similar to a 3L bottle I've seen
They do well using approximate sgfc holes and spacing (a bit smaller than 1/4" and a bit closer together) rather than polyfill. This way the airflow from the bottom passes through the perlite and maintains humidity and FAE (plus the occasional mist&fan). Although polyfill works if dialed in properly, as you can attest.
You could cut off the top to make a lid or use a gallon bag as a humidity tent. Experimenting with these little chambers is quite fun really.
Biggest tip I could give would be to roll your cakes in vermiculite after dunking. It is a "proven tek" that enhances the available moisture to the fruit bodies and makes for a nice pinning environment. Then again, I'm pretty sure you are aware of this already considering you joined in '07.
Kudos to you for understanding the basic principles of enough to branch out and have some fun!

I've got a mini-mono that is hardly bigger (length/width) than my hand. I've only used it once so far, it's actually just starting to pin right now, but I just put 1qt of spawn and 1qt of substrate into it. Don't see why it wouldn't work though, and it's a lot more convenient than an oddly shaped water bottle. I also have no cut any holes into it and plan to just lay plastic over the top, not sure how well that is going to work, might have to play with it by cutting some holes in the plastic as I go along. I'm hoping to get close to a single ounce out of it, that would be a good return for the size imo.

I will try the smaller spacing next time. What do u put in the little shot gun holes? Polyfill as well?
And yes, i have seen the rolling in vermiculite, but never tried it. I pretty much stuck with the old PF tek and went with that for many years (since '07!). Do u know the proper technique for the vermiculite rolling? Like how much soaking time and does it need to be sterilized...link to a tek thread?

You put nothing in shotgun holes . Cover your bottle in 1/4" holes and call it a day.

Oh! I seee.
But wouldnt that cause infectous things to enter the fruiting chamber? Or does the high flow of air from all the little 1/4" holes create like a natural flow hood that prevent harmful contaimanets from laying on the cakes?

Nope. It provides enough airflow to get rid of some CO2 (fanning is still required) and to humidify the air inside. It doesn't keep contams out, but if your cakes/sub are fully colonized when they go in, contamination is not really a problem from that point forward. Sterile technique is important early on, but not so much once your sub is colonized since it has control of the nutrients and is able to defend itself.
