Possible Gym. something?

Habitat: found in port angeles WA underneath some cedar trees? on a bunch of old needles and rotten undergrowth.
Gills: gills are like a rusty orange color and have bruised blue IMENSLY since i picked them and handled them. most of them seem attached to the stem but there are a few half gills inbetween the full ones but doesnt seem to follow any kinda pattern.
Stem: the stems on the mid sizespecimens are about a lil less than a half inch thick and of course get bigger as the size of shroom gets bigger. some of the stems on the older more mature specimens seem pretty hollow but not all are. also the insides of the stems have this spongy like flesh thats also like a rusty orange peach-ish color. also the bases of the stems on most are bluing and i see more bluing that occured after picking.
Cap: caps are mostly kinda upturned but with some of the smaller younger specimens they are more dome shaped(classical mushroom cap shape lol)also most of the caps kinda have this lil dimple thing going on on the middle. caps are the same kinda rusty orange peachish color that seems to characterize the whole shroom. cap also shows very notacable bluing from both being in the wild and from me handling them. i also pinched a few spots and bluing accured within 30 mins or less. Also, no viel or "ring" or whatever you call it on stem but ill inspect some more more closely
Spore print color: coming soon! i put one on paper but its kinda hard cis of the shape of most of the caps. ill have an answer tommorow morning.
Bruising: Deffinite dark blue to bluish green bruising on ALL parts of shroom, from growing in wild and from me pinching/handling them. some had extreme bruising at bass of stem.
Other information: hmmmm these smell kinda pleasant, not the ordinary mushroomy smell of cyans or cubes but kinda a fresh watery smell(idk only thing thing i could come up with to describe it)

Lactarius. When you crumble the edge of the cap off breaking a few gills, look for a red or orange latex to exude. If conditions are dry (they do not look to be) then you may have to try with several.
Red latex indicates L. rubrilacteus, and orange latex indicates L. deliciosus.
I suspect the former.

specificaly, start by googleing Lactarius rubrilacteus and Lactarius deliciosus.
Then it wouldn't hurt to read up about the genus as a whole.

Of course neither species is active, and googling them real quick would have told you that.
You'll also find that they are edible, and that oppinions are mixed as to how worthhile hey are to eat. A lot of people, such as myself, particularly like them sometimes, and many people try them while they are not, and don't want to try them again. Some people with ample experience just don't like them in any event.

Excellent advice, and there are plenty of harmful lookalikes too, for instance Paxillus involutus. Although not all Lactarius species are edible, I wouldn't "write home about" even the edible ones.
