mycorrhizal cube relationship
    #18988006 - 10/16/13 08:16 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Now I know cubes aren't specifically a mycorrhizal species but do they benefit at all from the relationship? Stamets has stated and documented the radical benefit to plants, stating " The mycorrhized plants surged in their growth compared to the same plants without mycorrhizae. The mycorrhizal mycelium enhances the root nutrient-aborption zone of plants by hundreds of times."

So even though not necessary, would a cube mycelial network still derive sugars, starches, and carbs and such from a symbiotic plant root?

I don't imagine so. The host plant controls how strongly it sends out sugars to its fungal symbionts in more or less direct proportion to how much nitrogen and phosphorus its mycorrhizal partners sequester for it.

I do not believe cubes to generally desire to give out its N/P in order to get back sugars

This is sort of conjecture. I speak only having crushed through all the wikis on mycorrhizae and related lol
