i was curious if there is any similar flour or such that i can use to get better yields? i'm sure that BRF will work fine, but can never be too sure about these things

BRF is generally accepted to be the most suitable flour. If you are in search of a high yeilding substrate, you could try grain (e.g. rye or popcorn), or something like The Polymer Technique

i don't particularly care for the fruiting chamber setup. would a large tupperware container work? i'd like to get good air circulation and perfect heat. is it possible to attach a small aquarium pump(or whichever size is best, possibly with an air stone?) and an aquarium heater to the bottom of the terrarium and cover with perlite and water?

Click Here for Magash's Poor Man's Pod, an ideal terrarium.

as far as innoculation goes, would it be easier to just flat out inoc them or would it be a good idea to use a honey/karo tek for quick colonization? if so, could someone point me to a really good guide for honey/karo tek?

I wouldn't recommend karo for a first grow. However, for a good tek, Click Here , and replace "malt extract" with honey or karo syrup, the ratios are the same.

i'm going to need a spore syringe. anyone care to suggest a cheap, reliable vendor? i was gonna order from ralphsters, but they currently do not accept CC's

Any of the Shroomery sponsers, excluding spore bank and sporeworks.

i don't see anything about a heater in there. would it be wise to use one to ensure proper temp and humidity? or is a heater overkill?

I use an aquarium heater with auto shutoff and a thermostat with my PMP, but only because it's out in the garage, and it's cold...

Quote:

also this may seem like a silly question, but is there any way you could get into trouble by just ordering syringes? i know of the consequences of using them in certain ways, but is just ordering them gonna get me into something i don't wanna have to do deal with? i know i may be paranoid, but it is better safe then sorry

With the volume of custom spore suppliers deal with, it is highly unlikely that you will be monitored after buying spores. Ordering them alone will have absolutely no legal repercussions, but it is at least possible it will draw you to the attention of your local authorities, although I repeat that I think this is unlikely.

should the heater go under the perlite or perhaps on the side of the container

My heater is under the geolite, submerged by water, between the bubble wands (air stones).

also what are ideal temps and humidity levels

The lids of terrariums are seldom airtight. If the lid is airtight, a small exhause hole should be made and covered with a filter, but with the vast majority of pods this is unnescessary
