IM so excited!! this is the first time ever finding cyans!! I felt so happy when i found the patch This is my first time but I'm 100% sure these are it Ive looked at so many pictures online that im confident they are. I'll try getting pictures in their habitat i didn't bring my camera today, they were a lot of pins though ill say that!

[These two got a little mangled they were in my pack back ]
Questions I took a wood chip from that patch that had mycelium in hopes of spreading it to another pile of wood chips. Could i have harmed the patch? And also what is the best way to approach this, do i just put the wood chip with mycelium in another pile is it that simple?[I put the wood chip in a zip lock with a little water so it wont dry out]

You won't much harm the patch by doing that. Hunters likely do far more damage by walking over the chips, compressing them and driving them into the (often thick, compacted) soil beneath.

It can be. You would want to do it into a shady spot in the chips, and place it down just to where the chips are moist. Take them out of that bag though. Closing them up in wet, anaerobic conditions for long may easily harm them.

You can take that mycelium and try to grow it out on some egg cartons or something if you want, or you can transplant it to an ideal area with adequate moisture.

I'm pretty pissed! My first ever cyan patch and it ends up getting raped Almost everything was gone even the pins! i got what i could find the remains.. I did put in the wood chip with mycelium in a pile of wood chips.. I got another in a Tuber-ware with wet sterlized carboard. I REALLY want to know how to keep this species alive.

Help please! I already read some guides but i want like really the best way.

It will pass, and there will be others. I know it's shitty, but it will pass, and there will be others.

You can spread the salvaged mycelium or stem butts onto wood chips then in the spring use the chips to build a patch.
You can click the link in my signature to see a patch i built using a few colonised sticks and chips and alot of mycelium grown straight from stem butts onto soaked wood chips.
Its nice to have your own patch where you can watch them grow, water them if needed, and let them reach full maturity.

Into, not onto. Way better results that way.

Really upset, i really do hope they will be others. There's still hope. I think im just panicking. I took these woodchips thinking in my head "This patch is going to be wiped out sooner or later.

Alright what i'm thinking of doing is putting it in this small container and then putting it into a huge wood chip pile. Any thoughts? Ill soak the wood chips over night.
