You've got an extended season for all the mushroom you mentioned except the ovoids if your near lake Erie. They are there, you just have to find them. The ovoids may be there, I think someone near Cleveland found them and posted here, but haven't seen them mention much otherwise.

3 I know the feeling of not being able to find Gymnopilus. I have been trying to find Gymnopilus junonius for 3 years and have had no luck, all I want to do is photograph it!!

5 I find Hericium coralloides often on fallen Quaking aspen. Maybe you could try looking on fallen poplar species if you have any in your area. Here is one I found on the Quaking aspen just to make you jealous

Gymn jams lol. Lmao I would too! My battery would go dead and I would run home put my ipad on the charger and head back out the the site with a pad and a pencil lol! You can charge mobile devices with citric acid from lemons. Its prolly myth but I heard gatorade too! Its the electrolytes lol! I am thinking of building an external battery pack that can run the ipad for a few additional hrs my biggest problem lately is space! I need to upload my collection and start fresh.

Yeah I dunno about poplar but im uploading a video from one of my MAny hopeful gymn spots. Check it out I will post link when finished

That's cool about the lemon juice charging the battery and great idea about building your own charging device... Now your giving me ideas.
Ya man space is a huge problem for me... I'm constantly trying to erase just to snap a few photos, I also have to get this felt with, you need that freedom to be able to bang off 50 shots and get that one wicked one.
Cool I'll check your video out and see your habitat.
That video is top notch IMO, I actually loved it..the open canopy with all the birds going nuts and the very smooth motions of the camera. Looks like a cool habitat too.

TY The chimp! Glad you loved the video. It was actually like 5 minutes long. I didnt hear it ding telling me I was out of space lol. Thats the same thing I do delete pics to take a few more!!! Its best like you said to have plenty of storage and bang out fifty of each just to get one excellent Joust shot I call them lol! It is a great habitat i think too. I should take more habitat videos of other spots. You and other shroom people would prolly get a kick out of em! Glad I gave you some Ideas. Im trying to fix my space problem as we speak

Don't know, but look in the spring for ovoids rather than the fall, if they're there, in the fall there won't be too many, course I'd be looking anyway if I was in the habitat for them, and if your looking for gyms, a little up the hill from the creeks where ovoids grow there's usually some gym logs.
