What generation are you in your country?

I am first generation in the usa. me and my folks came here when i was very young. we are good now and settled thanks to my hard working father. I have noticed that those who have been in their country for several generations are usually the most patriotic. We aren't too involved in politics, but we do stay informed. I have also noticed that those who have been in the usa for a long time are either very successful and know how to work the system, or are getting fucked hard by it.
discuss.

From my closest old country relatives, I would say 4th generation. My great grandparents came from Poland. As far as the rest of them go, I'm not sure but pretty sure they've all been here for much longer than that.

Not entirely sure. Some weird story about my grandfather being adopted by his uncle, and we lost communication with that part of the family. So I'm not sure how long my father's side has been here.
My mother is straight from Germany, my dad met her when he was stationed overseas in the Air Force.

Fourth. I don't really know too much about my heritage, but I know I'm partially Irish, German, Polish, and a few others.

Something like fourth or fifth generation, I think a bunch were ~1850s. They were all Irish on both sides as far as I know.

My mothers family has been here since before Canada existed as a country--something around 400-350 years. My dads family (and my dad) are fresh off the boat, 60 years now.
I guess that would mean I average out at 8th generation. FYI, super unpatriotic.

I'm a mish mash. On my dad's side, my family have been in the US since the 1600's. I come from slave traders, farmers, and even explorers.

I've only managed to track some relatives of mine back to 16th century or so, but my grandpa was pretty sure it goes further than that

My family (dad's side) was one of the first to colonize St-Anne de Beaupré in Québec (The coast of St-lawrence river near Québec) circa 1643.
If you go there, the old house is still up and they even made a statue to honor the family
The ancestror of my mom came to Québec in 1654 .
Both sides came from France. So we were here for a while

I wouldn't know and I don't care. I'm here now and that's the most relevant info on the subject as far as I'm concerned.
