I recently ate 6.7g of cubensis and tripped during that time. I actually thought about the witching hour and wondered if everyone in my neighborhood could feel my presence. I certainly felt powerful, it was a very clairvoyant trip, bright and euphoric with lots of tears. It was dmt like, which is why I'm commenting. A Buddah sat meditating in my room, but he was sideways instead of right way up.

The main difference between a dmt trip at night and during the day is the lighting differences. Even with eyes closed on a breakthrough trip, the lighting absolutely does matter for me. Either a lot of light or no light can both produce beautiful trips. Generally speaking, the bright environments usually result in a pretty and euphoric trip where dark environments seem deeper. Where lighting really comes into play though is when lighting changes mid trip. It someone turns a light on in a dark room, the trip will change. Or if someone turns the lights off in a well lit room. I never like when a room goes from bright to dark during a trip. I lose those pretty visuals. Dark to light isn't a problem, it usually just snaps me back to reality a bit and I find myself focusing on more visual aspects of the trip.
Early morning is also quiet, no street sounds or people in the house. Hope I answered your question

12 to about 3 in the morning is my usual thing with oral DMT trips. I started doing it because my partner would always be disrupting and disturbing me wanting to know why I was vomiting, and generally nagging me about one thing or another!
Waiting till shes asleep (12) I can be sure I wont be interrupted by anyone or anything, whilst knowing that due to the short duration I wont fuck up my sleeping habits too much!
In terms of intensity and profundity, there's no real difference between day and night, an empty stomach would make a much bigger difference.
Really have to get round to another Ana-huasa voyage soon, but am having too much fun with the fun guys these days!

I agree that there is a sense of depth in my DMT experiences during dark hours as opposed to light. I actually much prefer it this way.
Talking of changing light midway through... I had music playing on my last journey, forgot to turn off shuffle, Slipknot comes on half way through and ripped me out of DMT space. Horrible. Any sudden changes, be it in lighting or anything for that matter, can't ever be good.

Lol at the slipknot part. I've always been scared of this happening. Could you imagine going from soundscapes to death metal, talk about a rude awakening.

Do it 20 min before sunrise. You will not be disappointed. I promise.

Why are you curious op? What intrigues you in these hours?
around 3am is supposedly the point at which most melatonin is produced, by the pineal gland. it is a very similar compound . Also it is usually in these hours we reach REM sleep cycles, the most vivid dreaming. some theorize production of endogenous DMT is what provides vivid dreams, REM cycles. Some say melatonin. but dmt and melatonin are very similar in structure..
ultimately the pineal gland seems to be nocturnal.. and if you're smoking dmt, what a great time to do it! Maybe someone more educated than I can chime in on this

When I smoke dmt at night, my trips tend to be more intense. Couldn't really figure why, maybe it's the melatonin like what was mentioned above.
