for the record i threw away the shrooms in the second photo cause i didn't think they were gyms. a "beginner" identifier said they are not edible and he didn't know exactly what they were. there was still a lot more aside from what i threw away. i went to a mushroom show and found them right on the property. that's why i hope they are still there.

Gymnopilus luteofolius or aeruginosus is likely. Probably the former.

I think I remember Blood and Joust saying that the fibrils in g. aeruginosus are darker than G. lutes. So you are probs right.

Either way. Rad finds. I have never found either.
I hope to.
Although the G. puctifolius I found this year did bruise. That was cool.
Joust thought I was lying about it.

You should spore print them on foil and go to bed because you have to go to work in a few hours.
Come home from work then dry them out and store the prints.

Good. It'll get harder and harder to do that. Everyone tells me I'm an old man for my age, but damn if most things didn't used to be a heck of a lot easier.

Awesome find, quite abundant. Because of the greening on the caps I think aeruginosus is a pretty close match, compare yours with observations on mushroom observer or even post them there.

You probably are gonna need about 30 grams dry. You should use a fan to dry them or buy a food dehydrator, if you wanna get really into this hobby, I got a 8 rack one $4 bucks at a yard sale, but it is really loud. I think they are like $40 new.
