Cut all the older ones at the base.

Any that have opened fully.

Now, GO!

Gymnopilus luteofolius or aeruginosus is likely.
Probably the former.

That is what I was thinking but I really only know G. punctifolius.

A spore print is needed. They look a lot like Omphalotus illudens to me. Impossible to tell for sure without print.

I would say Gymnopilus, but the extent to my knowledge is very minimal.

Gymnopilus luteofolius.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

I think I remember Blood and Joust saying that the fibrils in g. aeruginosus are darker than G. lutes. So you are probs right.

Either way. Rad finds. I have never found either.

I hope to.

Although the G. puctifolius I found this year did bruise. That was cool.

Joust thought I was lying about it.

It can't hurt anything to have the OP take a print anyway.

I've certainly had trouble telling the two from one another before.
