cover half pint with saran wrap?

I have some agar mixture in a half pint because I am waiting for my petri dishes to come in the mail. Someone said to put saran wrap over it and poke holes in the saran wrap. I already have wholes poked in the lid.
My question is what is the proper way to grow the mycelium?
Do i let air flow or keep it airtight?

Just use the lid with holes and throw some micropore tape over them. Will work fine. Don't have any holes without a filter though or you will have a shitload of nasties in no time. The holes in the lids of the no pour teks is more to prevent a vacuum from forming rather than to provide GE

I think they make some kind of saran wrap that is breathable, I think some people use it to seal up agar dishes.
Any open holes without a filter of some sort will almost guaranteed contamination.
I don't think they need a lot but they do need some, if your using jars you can always use syringe filters, but by the time you do that you'll probably get your petris.

Most plastic food wrap is breathable.
