I have a growing problem... * 3
    #18983211 - 10/15/13 08:24 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Dear fellow comrades of the EG, the time has come to finally admit to myself that I have an exponentially increasing problem.  What was once the "occasional hobby" has turned into a full blown addiction.  I have no idea when or how this happened, and never expected it could happen to me.  I always thought "I can try it just once, I am stronger than most other people.  I will never let myself get as hooked as bad as Mostly, Juke, karode, modern, joe, etc..."  However, as you can see I have allowed myself to become just as depraved as the rest of you!

I'm jealous. As soon as i get my own place i plan on growing some san pedro, i keep telling myself i'll just grow one and that can supply me to trip at least once every couple years. I already have a feeling after my first taste of that tea, one cacti will be a total joke.

Looking good. :super: :vineclimb:

Are you incorporating worm castings into your Trichocreus soil or fertilizing with tea?

You are in serious trouble, HH. Glad you decided to take that first all-important step and admit it to yourself and to others. I will gladly take care of your plants during your long rehab process, I'm sending you my address through PM...

Great looking plants, man. Those seedlings look really nice.

WTF  I didn't make the list.  I am an addict damit.:tongue2:

Looking good Hookah
What you need to do now is start collecting more stuff like Ario's, Astro's, Trurb's, Gymno's and ....................................... lots of other small cacti. You can fit them in between the big pots and also hide them all over your house so you can get a hit whenever you need one.

Cheers

GOT you are definitely included with the "etc", haha there are just too many cactijunkies to list.  Also I got your globulars right here... arios, astros, turbo, fero, lopho....

My cacti do seem to enjoy the fresh castings.  My soil mix is 25% coir, 25% castings, 25% perlite, 25% course sand, all by volume.  They occasionally get top dressed with straight castings, or watered with casting tea when I get enthusiastic enough to brew some.

The lights that I am using are

8 - T5 "Grow" (6400K) bulbs

1 - 35w 6400k CFL bulb in ghetto reflector (20 oz redbull can)

All plants are kept outside during the summer, and brought in in the winter.  Anything that is not pictured in the closet is kept in a cool, dry place in hopes of getting them to rest over the winter.

Yeah, you have a problem. Its always so sad when young brilliant minds with so much potential fall for the green spikey virus and waste all their time, money and garden space for these terrible, terrible addiction.
But you faced the truth you're hooked indeed, thats the first step. Now I can offer you help by taking that kk339 and those crested peru grafts away from you.
Blessings!
