i am not sure what it means, it may be a genetic trate but it is very common with certain strains so maybe it is genetic or maybe it is due to environmental factors but it never hurt anything so don't worry.

It could be the reslut of very low humidity. Are the caps cracked at all? What type of humidifying set up do you have?
