silica bead pouches?

earlier today I went to walmart looking for some of those desiccant pouches to put in my bags with my dried mushrooms but they said they didn't have anything like that even though I was told they did. tomorrow I have some mushrooms that I dried and I need to package them up and every time I've done it before they seem to get wet pretty quickly even though I know they were completely dry to begin with. I was wandering if anyone could explain to me how to make something like one of those pouches with damprid?

Buy some damprid. Buy some teaa. Take the tea out of the tea bags and put the damprid in.

Put it in something non-porous but that can transfer water. Coffee filter maybe?

Dry them out completely and put them in a glass jar in a dark spot? Never failed for me. Things are still crispy enough to shatter months later.

I put my dry mushies in baggies and stick my baggies down in one of those huge glass jars. I think it's a gallon jar. It's not failed me yet

Or don't bother with them at all and just put them in a glass jar...
I mean shit they'll even be fine in a ziplock for more than a few weeks.

It's not usually the best idea to re-use silica desiccant packs, unless you've re-charged them in the oven first. They've usually absorbed all of the moisture that they're able to when they were packed with the original product. If you're not careful, you can actually re-hydrate your mushrooms.
I make fresh desiccant packs with silica that I buy from the art store. At Michael's, it's labeled as "Flower Drying Art", and comes in a green box. Make some small envelopes from postal tyvek, and you're good to go.
