I am only posting so much because every time I ask a question no one answers and instead just talk about something completely different.
How do you rehydrate a mushroom tissue that has been dried? Someone told me to let it dry and rehydrate it.

You can make your agar a little wetter than usual, but basically, just put a small sample on agar.
Be prepared to isolate it from contamination. There will be contamination.
As soon as you see myc growth, you need to isolate it asap, before contamination can over run it.
Some may suggest using a less nutritive agar recipe. This can produce more distinguished rhyzomorphic growth.
I am not speaking from experience, but from logic and what I've read on the subject. I have not come across anyone hydrating the dry specimen before they put it on agar.

Drop the tissue in some sterilized distilled water until it looks hydrated. It will eventually start growing in the water if aerated if theres a chance for it. Then drop it on your plate. You'll need to isolate away from contaminants, assuming the tissue starts growing. Good luck!
