Missing Shroomer - MushroomMountain - Oregon Corvallis Area
    #18981835 - 10/15/13 03:33 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

MushroomMountain is a noob to the board, but I've had some biz with him offline, and called to check up with him today...

Apparently he took off yesterday to head out to Corvallis area for chants and whatnot - he's from Dallas - and no one has heard from him since.  Mom has done the usual checks with law enforcement and hospitals, no joy.

He is with a pal of his named Daniel, they were in a maroon Dodge minivan with a mangled driver front quarter panel, license plate unknown at this time.  I'm waiting to get that info, will be after 5 sometime, I'm told.  The person the minivan belongs to is at work and doesn't take calls during work hours.

So, shroomers, keep your eyes open for this minivan.  His people have no clearer idea of where he was headed - perhaps some of you folks around Corvallis could assist with possible locations.  I suggested to his mom that as soon as they can get the license number they should contact the sheriff with the info.  If anyone has any info that may help, please post in this thread or pm, I will pass it on to his folks.

Thanks!

'Corvallis area' is a big vague

Would be good to hear more where... Which direction or general area
Lots of woods within 50 miles of there....

Crap.  If only.  And how many times have folks taken off saying they're going one place and end up in another?  And no cell phone on either one of these guys???

That minivan has got to be parked off the side of the road somewhere.  Since mushroom hunters are the most observant people on the planet, maybe someone will spot it.  Lame, but not much in the way of actionable items otherwise.

Thanks, guys, I'll post up any new info, but I don't think there's going to be much.

I would like to get any contact info I can so I can start contacting family members and
the Sheriff.

This has to be organized. The weather is nice so I am sure they are relatively
ok.

We need organization and radios. :pm: me with anything you might have.

And hats.  Deerstalkers.  I've got 4 frs's, but that does you no good up there.

Can't remember what frs stands for, maybe I'm stoopid there.  Ah...  Family Radio Service, my recall is not so retarded.

Just goin' on a tangent because there's nothing else to do.  :shake:

I used to host BLM campgrounds and Eugene campgrounds in that area so I have some supervisor contacts in that area...if you need some phone numbers then PM me. Hope all goes well.

Yeh, he showed back up but failed to offer any explanations.

It was a waste of concern, sorry.

Very good to hear. Concern is NEVER wasted. There are worse things that can happen than spent concern when someone MIGHT be in trouble and time MAY be of the essence.
