proxies and ISPs
    #1898160 - 09/09/03 12:50 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Does using a manual configuration of a proxy address limit how much ISPs can collect on an individuals web habits? Or would somebody need a more sophisticated setup?

Thanks!

An ISP has full access to every last bit that goes across their wires. The only really secure way I can think of to keep your ISP in the dark would be to create a VPN to an endpoint that you control, but that your ISP does not. Of course, your endpoints ISP will have full access to every last bit that goes across their network, so....
