amanita question

I have an amanita question, I was told that the amanita muscaria var persicina was being changed to amanita persicina because the DNA was found to be different enough to constitute the name change...now my question is about potency of the different variants of the muscaria. I know amanita differ from fruit to fruit but on an average, is one var more potent than another? And what about the amanita persicina? Since its not really a variant of the muscaria, is it different than the rest? Maybe someone knows of somewhere that has info on this subject? Sorry, it might be kinda hard to follow...

Oh there are so many possible variables in this that I imagine nobody knows.
Perhaps there is someone out there who has tested both and you could compare the numbers.
I have not read any papers on the subject and I am not even sure if there are any. Would not be surprised either way.
I would imagine someone would have to establish what variations within each of them singly can be. I mean how much variance in amounts of stuff per species.
Then from that you might find out that the variance within a single species is so much that it would be a waste of time to compare that species with anything else.
I have heard, only heard about A muscaria being quite variable in active molecule content.
But I dunno. Know anyone enrolled in college? Get them to let you use their library account to search for papers. Or perhaps there is some stuff at www.amanitaceae.org.
I really don't know is what I mean to say.

Or you could go to college and study chemistry and do the research yourself!
