Habitat: Where does it grow? In 2500 ft. mixed forest. What does it grow on? Soil, under moss, in a line moving outward from a hemlock tree.
Gills: Bright white
Stem: Length 3" narrowing toward the bottom, width 1.5-2" Strong, solid.
Cap: Diameter 2-4" color white w/ surface browning, rubbery and very tough, round
Spore print color: Sorry, I can't bear to cut the stem off these babies.
Bruising: None
Other information: Scent of the mushroom - spicy. The shroom is heavy and solid, dry and spicy sweet scented.

That sure looks like Tricholoma magnivelare. The odor is the feature that really confirms it. If you want to be absolutely 100%, find somebody locally that can verify the odor. The odor is one of the best things about them. One of the best parts of a good season is driving home with that odor filling the car.
-------------------- Happy mushrooming!

I will verify them for you. I live in Portland.
Then Ill eat them!
JK. I have my own. I am 99.9% sure they are T. magnivelare
But if you want that kind of verification I would be happy to do so.

Would this be destructive testing involving kitchen implements?
You would take a shroomer's first matsi find? I fear for your soul.
