monotub sub/ casing clairification please

I am doing my first true mono. I have done spawn to sub in trays, but I'm going a little bigger than lasagne pans this time. Is the basic coir/ verm/ layer technique and late casing what you, my guru's would recommend? I have trouble pasteurizing large scale by stove due to living arrangements, so I was going to throw it in a bucket w/ boiling h20, like the elementary tek, and hope it doesn't kill everything, but cool to a pasteurizing temp for a couple hrs. I guess my question is should I add coffee and gypsum? What are thoughts on frosting v/s covering w/ left over sub? Also. Thoughts on late casing? I really wanted to try this if it will increase my yield and decrease and contams. What is you exp w/ this? What would I late case with? Same as sub?? can I do 4 qts in a 58 gall? I have 5th, but it is only 75% and the rest are 100%. If I wait the week, will the 75% WHICH SHOULD BE AT 100% BY THEN, be cool to add. Thanks for all the wisdom and info. Your time and reply's are really helpful and much appreciated. I have read all the teks. just so many different opinions and advise to sift through. direct questions get the most consistent answers is why I ask. Thanks

I can't answer your other questions but adding coffee will attract contams more so than if you don't add it. Gypsum is good though.

Just do a brick of coir, 2 qts verm, and a handful of gypsum. Use 5 qts of boiling water. Once it cools put it in your tub and add your spawn. Mix it up as evenly as possible and put the lid on. Then just wait until it's fully colonized to introduce it to fruiting conditions. Just forget about the a casing layer it's not needed

If by "layer technique" you mean doing a layer of sub the layer of spawn etc then no, just mix it all together.
Cubes don't really benefit from a casing layer unless you can't meet the environmental conditions they need.
Proper pasteurization is always more reliable.
You can always throw the finished jars in the fridge to slow their growth while you wait for the last jar to finish.
Best to stay away from LC's, especially when you're first starting out.

cool. good advise. I started out learning bulk and lc. ass backwards, but I was like a sponge soaking up the info. I just recently started pf tek. just for the exp, but no learning curve there. All my LC's I have made have been great thus far. I have a hepa i work in front of and go through a drenched sponge w/ alochol. no contams in 6 lc's, all from different spores. beginners luck, or as I prefer..my calling:) thanks for the advise. no more coffee for me:)

Just a heads up do not stick a needle through an alcohol soaked sponge. Alcohol sanitizes, heat sterilizes. The second you touch it to the alcohol soaked sponge it is no longer sterile.
