yea, the forum is the place to go, and there seems to be plenty of helpful cactus people who know plenty about what it is that they do, and until i have a planted cacti, I wont know nearly as much, so the chances of making a mistake are greater for someone else who doesnt know. Otherwise, the rest of these statements are redundant and the answer to your question is nunya.

I have received cactus from the UK Greece and Germany without any problems. But there are many good genetics in North america if you are willing to wait . There are several on a popular auction site as i type.

There's a chance your shipment might be seized. A lot of things especially if properly packaged and properly mislabeled make it through. Still there is a risk your package might be the lucky one that garners extra attention and inspection. If so, I would just expect what is colloquially known as a "love letter" from customs which tells you that they seized your stuff and that they know. If you get one of those, I would not order again to the same address or under the same name.
If order live plants which are de facto illegal under US law like Lophophora you risk potential LE involvement if your shipment is seized. There have been a couple of reported cases of this happening. One forum administrator went to jail and had his life pretty much wrecked as a result of that incident that was due to poor packaging.
Sadly, we do not allow source discussion here in the EG, but you are free to solicit rooted Trichocereus trades in the Marketplace and/or contact users via PM.
For plants other than cacti, you can get import permits without too much hassle or expense. The USDA/APHIS system is there for a good reason even if biosecurity is rather lax in the US compared to say Australia.

Both Australia and the US have a lot of great clones. Outside of specific forums it is difficult to find either, but I'd argue it's easier to find named clones in the US given that there are specific vendors and many more auction sellers.
Let's please not get more specific in this thread as that will cross the line into source discussion.

I have found from experience that the biggest problem posting to the US is their postal machinery which CAN and DOES crush seeds to powder - use padded bags !! Also I ONCE had a Lophophora williamsii confiscated by US customs - but have sent plenty more since then with no problem at all.
