Nymphaea Caerulea placbo or no?
    #1897728 - 09/09/03 12:29 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Hey i was wondering if anyone has any expirence with this plant....

there are so many "mild" plants, that end up bordering placbo effect..
i wonder if this is one of them.....

example....
"dream herb" - definate placbo effect

"salvia" - definate NOT a placbo effect

"kava kava" - several people have felt its effects, yet on several occasions i have tried it, with no effect at all
heres a story of my most recent kava expirence

ok, so here i am, at some huge annual festival in the desert (yall know what im talkin about), im marchin around on stilts when i get invited to someone's camp to enjoy some good conversation and a bowl or 2 of kava...
they mix up a brew of kava with some fresh lookin kava root..
we all slurp down a bowl and go for a 2nd round....
about 30 min has passed since the 2nd bowl, and someone decieds they want to get trashed, so they mix up another batch...
i agree to have some more
"woah! you better watch out, you may not be able to make it back to camp if u drink a 3rd bowl" someone said
"oh ok, ill take off my stilts then"
i drink the 3rd bowl..

and nothing..
i taped my ass back into my stilts and walked half a mile back to camp on them without a hitch....
ive tried kava tinctures, and the traditional method... nothin...

heres another "placebo?" plant
"Kanna" as a snuff its horrid... as a chew its useless....

so...
i guess ive had bad luck so far in my dabbling in the enthogenic world
ive usually stuck to research chems because they quite a bit stronger/easier

but ive found a new love of growing things since ive found the shroomery....

this board really is great.... at first it hooked me with the mushrooms, now i barely ever visit the cultivation boards....

Remember, some people are more sensitve to the effects of certain drugs more than others. Kava kava is not a placebo, even though some of the stuff you'd get in the store is crap. I've tried kanna a few times and found it to be great, but sometimes the effects aren't there. I imagine quality might vary.

While I haven't used blue lotus flowers themselves (only the resin), I can safely say that blue lotus is quality. You should have some luck with it. Try soaking it in wine or some other alcoholic mixture, or smoke it. Should do the trick.

can you say if the effects were mild med or strong?
mild being about the effect of a cup of coffee, or a few tokes of weed

med being DEFINATLY NOTICABLE like speed or a benzo

and strong being something along the lines of salvia, DMT, pedro, etc..

I'd say it's more along the lines of codiene, or some other light opiate. Somewhere between mild and medium.
