premature pinning with casings, what to do?

So I have had 6 medium size casings incubating for a few days. Ive been patching every day on the faster spots. Today I have 3 casings that have each developed a small mushroom while the rest of their case is yet to push through. My question is now that I have some pins should I move them to the FC or continue patching in order to achieve an even pin set. Thanks for the help

Just move them to the FC, you'll be fine.

Are you doing bulk in trays, it sounds like? As I understand, you're only supposed to case one the sub is fully colonized, and then just fruit it... Part of the casing may colonize, but other parts will just have mushrooms poking through.
Generally when people see pins, they put it straight to fruiting.

i dont know what you should do. but i would use this as a learning point for your next grow. maybe u had to much ge/fae and the conditions weren't right for colonizing they were right for fruiting...

RogerRabbit said: You guys seriously need to stop referring to your substrate trays as 'casings'. That is an incorrect term unless all you have is a casing layer and no manure, grains, or anything. Nobody grows mushrooms on 'casings', period.
The casing layer is only the top layer on a colonized bulk substrate, nothing else. 'Casing' sure as hell isn't a name for a mushroom growing project. RR
