First time with pink oysters
    #18975996 - 10/14/13 10:37 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys, I have one jar colonized with pink oyster, I think. There is a slight pinkish hue to the top of the jar and upon inspection the top of the grain is orange. What do you think?

Any how I am soaking cardboard and some misc paper in a bucket of soapy water, whose approximate PH is around 12. Gonna drain tomorrow and spawn and place in bag with about 3-4 x holes.

I'd say you definitely let it colonize.  In the future I would recommend not letting them get that far along.  They will probably be a bit difficult to got out of the jar.  Other than that it looks fine to me.

Yeah I thought that Jeff. I initially inoculated 3 grain jars and an LC, no activity out of any after 2+ weeks. Then bam one jar colonized in the 4 days since last check. Still no signs from the other grain jars.
