Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Its hard to pinpoint using the maps that are given with each mushroom when your trying to locate them because you can't zoom in and accurately tell where they are

Lol. I know our regions may differ, but this is exactly the season for a lot of mushrooms Across much of the US. In mine, it hasn't started yet.

It is against the rules to look for locations. Those guides give, or link you to all the information you will need to find locations though.
You're going to need to start to learn to identify mushrooms while you are at it though. This isn't exactly like learning to pick tomatoes.
You might start by familiarizing yourself with Panaeolus cinctulus and Gymnopilus junonius and Gymnopilus luteofolius. You can move forward from there.

I see Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata has been reported from all over new york as well.
That would be another good species to learn to know.

However OP yah you got A LOT of reading, searching, identifying ahead of you. I say Dont plan to be dosing by the weekend.

Why? That is obviously exactly what you should be doing if you are hunting (hint) mushrooms in NY.
