Habitat: Classic P. semilanceata habitat. Found in a grass tussock on the north side of a cow field in an open stand of hardwood. Some leaf litter, but no apparent wood debris. The facing slope across the river, however, was a cut area with wood debris.
Gills: Adnexed. Purplish brown in color. Close
Print: Purple brown. Nicely deposited
Stipe: approx. 6cm long and 0.5mm thick. Very slight or no annulus
Cap: approx. 3cm wide. No apparent nipple or very very slight.
Bruising: Bruising blue on cap and stem. No new bruising apparent after picking except near the base of stipe.
Smell: Farinaceous to rancid farinaceous (if your a connoisseur)
General location: Near Oslo

What do you think?

That is interesting. My first thought was Stropharia, but that looks like psilocybin blueing.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

I'm surely staring at a drying, receeding pellicle though. Either peeled back or doing so on it's own.

I'm still tempted to call this Stropharea. S. caerulea or so.
With the blue Stropharias, he blue should fade as it dres out, no?

ok. Does look like it could be S. caerulea and isn't blueing vividly. Blueing Stropharia are new to me. I'll watch for changes.
Put a nice skip in my step and thump in my chest regardless

As far as I know, the blue Stropharias do not so much 'blue' as in bruise as the color is innate.
I have hardly any experience with them first hand.

Ok that would make sense since there was no new blueing after I picked. Looked as though it may have been a frost nipped active. The new blueing I thought I saw at the base of the stem may just have been gleeful thinking or a change in light.
Mystery solved I think. Thanks a bunch

In all fairness, it looks for all the world like active bluing.
It's even much darker on the little raised fibrils.

Sometimes those Strophs can be confusing. By the shape of it I would suggest maybe S aeruginosa that is old and faded in the sun and rain.

It looks so off for stropharia, i mean it doesnt, but that bluing is not normal....

Do you remember that S caerulea I found last year or the year before. It really looked like blueing too but Alan was 100% it wasnt blueing but left over blue color from the original color. Because unlike Psilocybe that starts white and bruise blue , it starts blue and fades away.
But shit , I dont know.

This image here:http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/pictures/data/8/medium/Stropharia_caerulea_SEP_8127_2_m_w.jpg
Is quite convincing in my mind. Plus given the habitat, the lack of other, similiar, psilocybe in the area. The image even shows a peeling pellicle

Possibly Stropharia pseudocyanea or albocyanea

yes psuedocyanea is like aeruginosa and is a good choice as it favors grass I believe. The S caerulea I find have a yellow cap, it really looks like a cube.
