Might be im a dumbass if they dont grow here but Guess those brown mushrooms that I thought were junk and threw out are actually gymns! Ive been finding these in bulk! Gymnopillus allantopus. No one IDed them right. I dont think they are any good for eating but im glad to finally know what it is! Letter A. First picture you come to on gymnopilus

Know what they were growing from? They certainly don't LOOK exactly like the mycology paper, from Australia. The same paper says they've been found at various locations, but I couldn't find anything else on that species.
You mentioned others attempted to ID them? Was it here at the shroomery? Do you have a link to the original post?
Do you have a spore print?
Also, what date did you find them?
Also, super awesome. Cool post! Can't wait to see further information on this.

I agree due to the silky veils breaking they look like armillaria. But i know i have found the ones in the PDF A. And the ithers except junious . Just cant find gymns in a month of searching in the right season. Or they dont grow here. TY for checking it out tho!

TY I will find and post link in here. It was on the s hroomery. Found a week ago growing from wood mainly. Most of them. Spore print i did some have to look it up. Brb

You guys are the pros. Sorry to put you through this again. I just dont see how I cant find any cool gymns? Most of you know. I been hunting for 2 months straight almost 5 hrs a day. Lots of cool finds, no Gymnopilus to add to my list of finds. prolly is A. ostoyea

Gymnopilus allantopus is an Australian species. I'm not aware of any finds from outside Australia. These don't look much like them anyway. Here is a picture of G. allantopus:
