Jar that just finished colonization one day ago is already pinning.

PF Tek, first timer. I had this jar that had a bit slower colonization, especially one corner of the jar that was especially slow to colonize. His brothers have gone through colonization a consolidation fine. So this slowly colonizing jar just went 100% colonization one day ago, and In some spots it is already starting to pin. Should I consider that is is probably properly consolidated and just birth from here, or should I give it a couple of days to really be sure on consolidation?

It may be contaminated, that might be why it took so long to colonize(or it taking so long could have left it more susceptible to contains) and that could be why it's pinning early, contamed cakes pin fast because they're trying to release spores before the contam takes over.
When you open it give it a good smell to make sure it's alright, also do t open it near your grow.
And if most of it was growing at a regular pace than I guess that it probably should be consolidated for the most part.

I think I will give it 2 days then open it. Just to make sure it is consolidated. Thanks for the advice.

Here is a picture of the corner that was slow to colonize. The mycelium does look a little wack compared to the rest of the jar. It is irregular. Maybe it is a contam or just a dry/dense packed part of the substrate.

Yeah, idk the mycelium looks a little weak there. It looks like the dry verm layer just dips down there, that spot may just not really colonize because it might be just verm with no brf in it.

If that is the case maybe I should just let it go for a few days(just to be safe) then open it up and give it a whif?

Hmm, I'm not sure, it does look a little wierd, possibly some form of mold, I can't really tell the color. It could just be thin mycelium, I'm not sure.

I still am letting it go for a few days and opening it, if everything smells okay should I fruit it with the others or not risk it.

Looks fine to me. If it smells good, dunk and roll.
Listen to your mushrooms. They know what they want. If they tell you it's time to fruit, then it's time to fruit.

Opened it today. The funky dark colored spot has not really changed in size and the cake smelled earthy. I birthed and dunked him separate from his brothers. I did not put him in the SGFC with the others yet though. Does it look clean enough to do so? First pic is the spot, second pick is the close up. Third pic shows how crazy these guys were pinning during consolidation, which might be a sign of contamination right?

If it start pinning, as long as the jar is 100% colonized, birth it. I had a couple jars in my first grow in a similar situation and most invitro fruits once were exposed to fruiting conditions aborted. My 2nd batch is already colonizing and I wont make the same mistake , as soon as I see one little primordia in a 100% colonized jar, off into the dunk and roll it goes

My main concern is the spot and contamination. Does it look contaminated?

When you say it smelled earthy, was it a different smell from your brother jars?

Yea, at least bacteria. It'll be noticeable.

First time grower here.
Nearly all of my jars did this too. I think it was because I let them colonize with the lid unscrewed perhaps. I didn't get a spot like that, but it doesn't look like any of the known contams from the FAQ and it doesn't smell so you're probably fine but I'm not an expert. All of my jars that pinned in vitro (many of them before full colonization) ended up fruiting quite nicely once I birthed them. I dunked and rolling all of my cakes but two. One of the in vitro pins from the cakes I didn't d&r ended up coming out to 27g wet! I wouldn't sweat it.
