Agar to Popcorn

Hell everyone! later this week i will have all my materials to start my agar to popcorn project. Im going to be doing 7 quart jars of popcorn and loading 6 of those into a monotub with coir/verm mix. I do not have a PC currently So i will be loading my corn into a clean 5gallon bucket with warm water covered for 24 hrs. From there i will simmer the corn in a pot for an hour. After that i will load up my jars and bring to a boil. Once boiling i cover the pot and let boil for 3-8 hours. Cooling atleast 12hrs. From there I will be inoculating with my agar wedges!(in my air tight work box.) Let me know what you think of the process. And pictures will be up as soon as possible.

Popcorn works just well. It is not the best substrate, but it works.
1. Put your corn to a pot and fill the pot with water. 2. Boil for 30-70 minutes, popcorn will suck enough moisture in that time. Pour water away then and keep your pot on stove for a little while and stir your popcorn to evaporate excess water. 3. Load your jars, while the popcorn is still hot. 4. Boil those jars for 2-3 hours. 5. Let them cool properly and inoculate with wedges.
I prepare my popcorn jars that way, except I use PC to sterilize.

Woops i forgot to add i was straining for an hour after the simmer thanks. I like the idea of keeping them in the pot instead of on a strainer n drying. You think i would be good with out the initial 24hr soak?

Instead of making faces why dont you add something useful to help out? I boil my brf/verm for 2-3hrs so im thinking the popcorn would need some more. I know RR suggested 8hrs refilling water every 2hrs for wild bird seed. So i was thinking something similar but prob doesn't need as long because its not mixed?

The popcorn will definitely need more than 3 hours. I know a lot of people have done successful tyndallization with WBS or rye over 8 hours but from what I have read its still a giant crapshoot. With popcorn, which has a very high endospore count and a large grain size I would think that something in the order of 10-12 hours might give you a better chance.
Nonetheless don't take my word for it

It took me 2 mins to search for that

I guess if you live well below sea level that might have a prayer. Whatever. I'm bored of this thread already. OP if you want my advice, here it is in a nutshell;
1. If you can't get a PC, do cakes and spawn them to bulk 2. If you really must do grains this way don't do popcorn 3. Get a PC and do grains other than popcorn like WBS, rye, wheat, RGS 4. Stick with the agar, its the best part of your whole plan
Whatever you do, good luck OP

I Decided to cook up 7qts of wbs and popcorn next to eachother. Still going to boil atleast 8hrs when in the jars. I have two monotubs ready to be filled so oll hit them both up. I was told that popcorn is not as fool proof as wbs by an experience grower. Sense i am not very experienced thought i try for myself sense iv read alot of successful attemps.

Popcorn's large size makes it hard to sterilize. It's hard to get the moisture right. It offers fewer inoculation points when spawning.
