Wanted to grow my own because I have no other means of getting them, but now im thinking its not worth the risk and that I have to much to loose if someone found out. Why can't the world be more open minded? Wish I could just throw them in the backyard instead of constructing a mini lab of sorts.

Because it is run by a bunch of close minded elitist nazi's on power trips, who constantly tell us the good things in life are bad.
And no one is stopping you from impregnating nature with, well, nature.

If they are for yourself just don't tell anybody you have them. If someone sees them say its a hobby and you grow normal edibles or ornamental mushrooms. they don't have to know and the majority of people are stupid.

its simply like everything else. its the quick and the dead.
im of the opinion, that not all bio crops, are for all people , in all places, at all times.......
for what its worth, i respect a grower, but, i also respect someone who chooses NOT to grow for rational reasons.
mileage varies, safety first.

Keep it small and too yourself. If you stay in a nosy area and have to buy items from local stores have your story straight before you go into the store. Trust me people are nosy can't buy anything around here without 101 questions. Now have people asking me when my okra gong to ready? Why are you not buying sure-gel? When dd you learn how to can? You have birds? Now you canning this is the other stuff ready? Didn't you just buy bird seed last week? You pop your popcorn? Now I go across town to get everything

if you don't tell anyone about it you'll be the only person who knows...
but like everyone else is saying, you could make up some jars and spawn them outside, as now is the time to do it.
ive had a few successful outdoor grows with less than optimal conditions

Just think about how rewarding it will be when you're finished. Weeks of hard work and then all of the spoils are yours. Share with friends, family, hog them to yourself! They're yours, you earned them! Have a nice trip!

Ive never had anyone question me for buying excessive amounts of anything except coir. The lady at the reptile store asked my why i buy 9 bricks of coir every 3 weeks. I told her i breed Nile monitors and sell them to a retailer out of state. That was 9 months ago. I was at a good friends B-Day party about 3 months later and i turned it into a tea party, apparently she was friends with him, and was at the party, now shes my bestest customer. (for imaginary monitors)

I like to buy shit like my coir and verm in large quantities at the hydroponics' store. I pay for everything in cash and they seem pretty reluctant to ask any of their customers anything. However the last time I was there picking up 250 liters of verm, and i overheard a sales guy making a pitch and saying "hypothetically you could grow at least 5 pounds of tomatoes with this" and i almost pissed myself

I get questioned all the time. I live in a town of 400 people. The town 10 miles down the road has only 2000 people. Everyone knows everyone and everyone wants to know about my birds, my canning projects, my well aerated garden and whether or not the storage unit at my apartment is full yet. Like Enigma, I drive far to shop out of town now.

I wonder how you guys deal with a significant other(girlfriend)who often stays over at your place, for the guys on that situation, don't you worry a little if down the road she may open their mouth, considering that women sometimes have issues in keeping private things private How would you handle grow+gf in an optimal way?

I hear ya! I led my wife through her first grain spawn prep this past weekend and she always takes care of harvest for me. Oh and she also makes some pretty nice grain jar lids

Yeah, this guy over on Reddit has the fifth all time ranking post on the Breaking Bad subreddit for asking "who is billy" and when confronted by a poster saying he has no idea what he is talking about he says "saul godman sed hank shod go on a trip to billys."

I don't know if you know how Reddit works but just read the comments on the link, it's fucking hilarious.
Sorry OP - either live with the risk, or don't. It's a choice we all have to make. If your SO says no, hiding it is not wise.

Dude, mushrooms don't usually give off a weird/strong smell, they don't take up a lot of space, and you can buy all the ingredients legally and discreetly.
So long as you're out on your own, don't have a nosy roommate, and just keep that secret to yourself you'll be fine.

I want to do it for all the right reasons, and I hate letting dumb laws detour me from doing what I feel is right. But I feel like the cons are outweighing the pros on this one.

Think I'd rather just find someone to buy the finished product off of. Then I wouldn't feel like I have to peek out my windows all day. The funny thing is I've done shit that would have landed me in prison for life, i haven't touched an illegal substance now for 8 years and im freaked out that big brother is watching my google searches and planing a raid. Sometimes it just feels like that's the way the world works.

I doubt any company would ever even try sending spores to CA. They would be in just as much trouble. If you don't already have spores you'll need to go hunting for wild mushrooms or find someone who has them.
