So I think I found my first Stuntzii today! They were growing on some wood chips at a park not too far from my work. Positive ID would be awesome! This was located in Olympia, WA
Habitat: Found on wood chips. Not sure what kind of wood chips they were though.
Gills: The gills are a dark brown color. Darker than the the top of the cap.
Stem: Stems aren't too thick but seem pretty strong. Not brittle at all. They also have the tell tale ring around the stem underneath the cap.
Cap: Most of them have a rounded cap (sorry for lack of scientific terms) with one being more flattened.
Spore print color: Gettin it!
Bruising: There was obvious brusing when I first found them, but the sun seemed to dry them up a bit today which caused some bruising to dissipate. It is still apparent in some though.

Thanks in advance!

Hell yeah! Was super pumped when I found them. Knew immediately I hit magic. Nice to find something other than gyms :P
I went into work at 10 only to find out I didn't work until noon. Decided to hunt for those couple hours and got lucky! Now I'm glad I went in early :P
But these are for sure stuntzii yes???

Also, I would recommend spore printing every single one, and if any have something other than dark brown/purple print, they are not good. Should be particularly worried about Galerina marginata, which also has been known to grow from woodchips and has occasionaly been found growing amongts P. stuntzii...

What would be a good way to spore print all of them? Should i just lay them all on some foil? Would the stems have to be cut off?

recommend cutting the stem, but not completely necessary just as long as the lamellae are face down toward the paper or foil.

For sure. Doing so now. Was looking at them and they ALL have an obvious ring around the stem which makes me feel more comfortable with them as well. Hopefully they all produce decent prints. And thanks crocker!
