Can't say I have, the place where I picked these seems to have a pretty continuous supply at the moment.

dudes dudes dudes..... :happyheart:

Yesterday I went on my first mushroom hike in southern Oregon. I was so captivated that got lost! :facepalm3:

I am truly a dingleberry but I wanted to share some extremely low quality photos of my smorgasbord :happyheart::happyheart: Sorry, I have the most ghetto technology ever.

This isn't my first time finding chanterelles but it is the first time I have actually collected any to take home and fry up, mmmmmm so tasty with butter and grass fed lamb chops.  There were a ton of white chants.  Also in this picture I think I have some gyms, some interesting coral mushies, and a little tiny piece of a Pseudohydnum gelatinosum.

This is like....1/20th of the variety I saw and I definitely only harvested about a 10th or less of the amount of chanterelles I saw.  also my mushies are super dirty, but man those dudes were pushing up that loamy humusy soil, I was kinda rolling in it myself, like they(you know, all your wise friends in kindergarten) say, "god made dirt an dirt don't hurt"

now I am just waiting on the neighborhood mushroom factory to start producing...lol

Those whites are the dirtiest. Sounds like a really fun day.

I am sick and feel weird. That sucks. Im going hunting today for as long as I can handle. The question becomes- Do I stay in town and go for
actives or do I drive to the mountains in search of yellow feet and matsutake?

Not sure.

I've been battling that decision myself!  It's a hard choice....rare edibles or rare actives....hmmmm.

I made another thread about that: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18972177 Would very much appreciate input from others who have eaten them in the PNW.

I've eaten them a few times before, I think they are pretty good. They are definitely worth not passing over, as long as you find them in good enough condition.

Had an excellent day in the woods with the wife & our neighbor. Probably got about 5-7 pounds of chants and 4 decent boletus mirablis.

Some habitat shots. When I stumbled into the area of the third pic I was in heaven!

Our cut of the bounty

Somehow I never noticed this giant engine from previous logging operations 20 feet off the road. I love relics in the woods!

Also saw the first fruits of P. pelliculosa starting to rise.:mushroom2: Can't wait to go back in a month.

:willynilly:

Today was uhhhhmayzing!

I went hunting with thedirty mac today out on Mt. Hood.

She and I friggin killed it!

I finally got some hedghogs and some winter chants. As well
as chants, gomphus clavatus, C. rachodes, G. tsugae, L. rubrilacteus, an amazingly huge and bug free B. mirabilis. Really stoked
about that one. And my first matsutake!

I think. They smell fucked up and look like matsutake.

Ill have it ID'd later.

I am so jazzed. But now I have a ton of work to do to can what I don't
want to eat

The bounty

The C. rachodes came from a neighborhood in SE Portland I found while on my way
to pick up thedirtymac.
