Nakor420 said: Yeah. Sorry.. I've been lazy with the pic taking.. I harvested my sclerotia from the jar, placed the grains back in the jar and filled it with water..left the grains for about 20 mins to soak then spawned in a tray with 1 jar of bulk (coir/verm/gypsum. It took about a week to colonize, then fruited as per normal...I started to notice after a while that the sub was starting to raise and crack...then I noticed one day looking down one of the cracks that it was sclerotia pushing up the sub...I ended up harvesting the stones and just tossing the sub...I don't know about potency yet, but structurally these stones are nicer than from the jar..no picking out rye grains...they are much rounder and larger. I have a few hypotheses as to why this happened...I'll have to go through a period of trial and error to pin it down..though I have to move again in a month and have ceased all cultivation in this house. I'm letting my current grows run their course, then halting until I'm in my new place.
If it is one of your first 'mexicana' grows it is best to do with fresh colonized grain. As soon as the grain is 100% colonized spawn it to bulk, this seems to work best for getting fruits. They really aren't that much harder than cubes it just takes some practice to dial things in. If I use grain to get stones I will continue to use it for stones harvesting them and putting the back in the same jar for a second flush. Most of the time I get a better second flush of stones from the grain and I do am not super sterile when separating the stones.

Thanks man..I'm already chock full of stones with my last jar...I'm been getting about 80-90 grams fresh from each jar. I wanted to wait till Christmas, but people have been convincing me to pull them. I'm generous like that, lol...

Yeah why wouldn't you? I agree the fruits are beautiful and highly potent...but if you can produce stones also...why the hell not right? haha I mean your species has that ability...let it spread it wings and fly.

This is true actually I was getting stones at like 50% colonization...but I also didn't shake my jars per Frank...if you give them a shake at the proper time, according to Franks experience you might not get stones....

How did you inoculate your jars? I don't remember you ever mentioning that. I was just going to drop in an agar wedge. I know frank likes to use lc for these because he doesn't like to shake them. He says he has trouble getting them to produce stones when he shakes them but since I was going to fruit them I figured it wouldn't matter
