So I'm currently pasteurizing my coir mix in jars via franks tek. My temp shot up unexpectedly and my alarm for 170 went off, I flipped and started dumping ice in the water and the temp stabilized at 171, pretty sure it lasted more than 10 minutes though :/ it's sitting at 168 now but I just wanted to check with you guys if you think the 1 degree is going to piss in my Cheerios D:

From what I understand, you want 160*-180*, which makes 170* perfect, with a little bit of a buffer for moments like that. You should be fine.

It's 140-160F for 30-90 minutes.

Coir is very forgiving. I am sure you will be fine FunGuy :thumbup:
