I.D. request, I think I found some Gymnopilus.
    #18970162 - 10/12/13 10:06 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat: They were found on a rotting log.

Gills: Yellow, detached gills.

Stem: Strong solid stems. A lot like the stems on other Gyms i've found

Cap: Caps range from 2-5 inches in diameter, caps are yellow/orange. They have a pretty smooth texture, some of the smaller ones are a little scaley.

Spore print color:
Still waiting but the spores look rusty orange.

Bruising:
Didn't notice any blue bruises on these guys

I would consider calling them G. luteus

Put them in the fridge overnight and they might show some blue-green bruising.

where are you located??

if you are in central or northern North America, G. luteus is a very, very good bet!!

G. luteus does not bruise that readily, usually...
however, some faint bruising can be seen by the bite mark in the 3rd photo.

nice finds man!! :getstoned:
