I.D. request, I think I found some Gymnopilus.

Habitat: They were found on a rotting log. Gills: Yellow, detached gills.
Stem: Strong solid stems. A lot like the stems on other Gyms i've found
Cap: Caps range from 2-5 inches in diameter, caps are yellow/orange. They have a pretty smooth texture, some of the smaller ones are a little scaley.
Spore print color: Still waiting but the spores look rusty orange.
Bruising: Didn't notice any blue bruises on these guys

I would consider calling them G. luteus

Thanks for the quick response, I was thinkin they were inactive G. sapineus but I have no idea. Anyone else wanna give their opinion?

where are you located??
if you are in central or northern North America, G. luteus is a very, very good bet!!

G. luteus does not bruise that readily, usually... however, some faint bruising can be seen by the bite mark in the 3rd photo.

I was in southern Wisconsin when i found these, thanks guys. Spore print turned out to be rusty brown and they have that classic bitter taste.

I see some bruising I think! 3rd pic top right mushroom where the bottom of the stem has broke off.
