I'm no expert, but I don't think it'd be that great for acacia - without an acidifying+defatting step you're going to end up pulling a lot of oils/fats, and will end up with a very gooey end product, which will probably need cleaning up afterward anyway (after drying and scraping the goo as best you can, all you'd need to do is dissolve it in a small amount of clean, warm naphtha then carefully pour off the naphtha while leaving the oils/impurities, then do another freeze precipitation with the DMT-laden naphtha).
Oh, and you'd regret using a mason jar for your freeze precipitation when it comes time to scrape out those crystals.
yeah unless your in texas just buy a cheap beaker

Why would I regret using a mason jar? Also, in the tek around I think the 4th step it says keep it over something heated for 24 hours? How heated and how important is that step?
When you guys say the word pull, do you mean I can do it over and over again with the same root material? Should I be getting powdered root or actual root?

get the powdered root youll get higher yields.
i will try to make this simple as possible:
pulling freebase dmt from water+NaOH solution is like adding a solvent (naphtha) to dissolve the DMT into it, because freebase DMT dissolves better in solvents that are non-polar (the molecules do not attract each other much)
however, one pull will only dissolve a certain amount of DMT because the solvent EQUILIBRIUM is being shifted to one side, there is a spectrum of values on how many parts DMT will be dissolved as the rest of the DMT will stay in the water solution for the next pull. 3 pulls should be enough or if you are OCD about your shit do 4.

Scraping up the crystals can be a real bitch of a job (even when using scalpels and razor blades), which is why most people use a flat glass baking dish for that step. Also careful with mason jars and heat - I had the bottom of a glass half-pint jar literally fall out while doing an extraction, after that I got myself some genuine pyrex glassware.
Heat will help release the DMT (as well as all sorts of other goodies and baddies) and promote absorption into the naphtha. Longer you leave the naphtha to soak with heat, the more DMT and other things you'll pull from the basified mixture. Personally, I prefer multiple short-duration pulls for a cleaner product.
A pull is the process of soaking the basified mixture with warm naphtha, then pouring/syphoning off the naphtha for freeze precipitation or evaporation. Yes, you need to do multiple pulls on the same root bark to get all the DMT you can (I usually do between 3-8 pulls per batch of root bark depending on how well its yielding - its a diminishing returns thing). If you use the freeze precipitation method you can re-use your naphtha.
Powdered root bark is best for extraction, but whole root bark will store for longer.
