OP, upon re-reading your stuff again, I think you would also benefit immensely from expressing your individuality in a few ways.

They don't have to be major, but they do have to be "you". For instance back in high school, something went click in my head one Xmas, when all my family were stuffing themselves with pork. I just instantly developed a distaste for it, that has lasted for 10+ years now. Probably some minor benefits from not eating fatty meat, but more importantly there's the psychological benefits from expressing something that's one's own stuff, not imposed from outside. Every meal that I made myself, even if it meant walking a little extra and buying my own stuff, I appreciated it much more. Frankly the more I clarified personal tastes and preferences, the better I ended up feeling about myself.

Skating may be like that for you. Either find time for it, or find other things like it to do, wear or be. Develop your own habits / interests that are 100% not explainable or shared with family and school, but completely your own.

For most this kind of thing is very empowering / motivating.
