Ne Ohiho. On fertilised lawn. The grass is only 5 years old. The fertiliser is human feces dumped from a camper earlier in the year. Dunno if it would be bad to eat them because of this. My thoughts would be they are fine. Judging by How many times have people ate cow shit shrooms and was fine lol. 1. Calvatea ______?

 Non edible old one
 2. Lacrymaria velutina

 3. Coprinus comatus

 4. Unknown thinking possible actives. Doing spore prints.

  5. Agaricus campestris smells like almonds

   6. Im guessing some kind of Armillaria.
        7. I dunno but wasnt a lot of these.

 Bonus pic.

4 is Psathyrella, you can tell how the stems are splitting and the dark gills.
Agaricus campestris is not supposed to smell like almonds, but its impossible for me to weigh in on the id from that angle of the stem.

Much prized by farmers and gypsies for generations, the horse mushroom is regarded as one of the most delicious edible fungi, although the fruitbodies of this and other yellow-staining Agaricus species often have a build-up of heavy metals, such as cadmium and copper.[5] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agaricus_arvensis Should I eat them???

No it's just closely related. Agaricus bisporus is the cultivated one and also grows wild, less commonly.

I think they generally more closely resemble campestris, but the aniseed smell made me suggest arvensis. I really have no idea for sure which it is, or if it's either one of them. But he has them in front of them and might be able to work it out.

I know people fertilize their gardens and eat mushies out of cow poop and horse poop. I seen an episode of a thousand ways to die tho where a woman was eating dirt from her neighbors yard and the neighbor was fertilizing his yard with human feces. She died from eating human shit!

There's a big difference between eating mushrooms/fruit/vegetables that have grown from the aged manure of ungulate livestock versus ones that have grown in an area contaminated with human waste and chemicals added to the rv toilet system.

Not an idiot no. But odd that you would even consider eating anything from such a place lol. Even if it wasn't potentially unhealthy. The idea of it is nasty. As for the yellowing that degree of mild yellowing is normal in species like arvensis.

I was only told the camper feces were dumped there. The home owner says hes never fertilized his yard. The puffballs were in a different area. Mostly gravel mixed with grass, just to be safe still jot eating them. But the fertilizer was dumped on the hillside next to the camper and behind their garage, both spots are booming with mushrooms! Thats where I found the Agaricus, shaggy manes, psytharella, laccaria and honeys i love the puffball I ate the other day. But to be safe gonna throw em in my yard TY for the info and consolation!

Little known fact... most public land with irrigation systems use Grey Water to water their lawns... and greywater is often used in large-scale agriculture as well... around here, in wine country, alot of the Vineyards are watered using Reclaimed waste waters.
Greywater: the waste water from baths, sinks, washing machines, and other kitchen appliances.
Waste water: water that has been used, as for washing, flushing, or in a manufacturing process, and so contains waste products; sewage
They like to call it "Reclaimed water"... its a good idea overall, but I for one am reluctant to say this is good for agricultural/crop use, or for mushroom pickers that source out public spaces such as lawns and landscaped areas for harvesting... not to mention the top dressings of herbicides...
Reclaimed Water
-also doubt those are A. arvensis, they dont have a pink-gill phase. Maybe A. californicus.

Thats some excellent info! TY rev0kadavur!!! They do that around here sort of. All the grey water lines lead to the creek. Its nasty. I wish they wouldnt do that! I wade the creek often times finding pools of grey water and other chemical foamy spots. I used to sane for minnows and catch crawdads. Id never eat a crayfish from there! Used the minnows as fishing bait crayfish are good for muddies and smallies

Ehh...I know it might sound a little dumb, but I wouldn't mind getting "lost" in the woods... I love being out there and finding stuff and knowing I am able to live well in the wilderness ... I should probably just go camping lol...sucks camping alone tho!

ive thought the same thing i am waiting for me to do something dumb enough that the police are looking for me again. Then I will retreat to my many secluded places in the woods! Good luck finding me if I am on foot I will lay in the leaves and mud with a bamboo straw sticking out so I can breathe. Like Rambo!!!

Sounds like some good crawdads!!! I read somewhere the fresh water lobster is an indicator that there is a high quantity of fresh water in the stream. Of course any stream water must be boiled before consuming. Its believed that trace chemicals in the sourc can make the crawdad absorb them. I ate some out of th dirtiest creek around before. When manic I moved out of my house I was renting and into a truck camper I got for free. I was unemployed and hungry and i caught some big crawdads and boiled em up and ate them. This is round about the time I was obsessed about catching monnows and finding crystals like I am now with mushrooms. My family and friends made up roomers behind my back saying I was surviving off creek chubs and crawdads!!! Lol the source of the rumor. My grandmother who couldnt understand why I left a perfectly good house to live in a camper.

Hey art, if you are finding l. velutina, then you are in the right place for weilii. LV is an indicator species. On our last hunt, the lv were mixed in and around the weilii. If we spot lv, we will find weilii shortly after. Next time you find some, get down on your knees and start looking under and around the vegetation surrounding the area. The weilii are laughing at you as you walk past.

Thanks DC, but I've only seen those twice and neither time was it anywhere around me.... it was towards you're way...probably right near actually...I was in cherokee I believve.... I'm pretty much convinced ill never find em around me....I just think this is the wrong area for them.... I wont find unless I head out your way but I don't want to just drive all the way out there to just aimlessly drive around looking for a spot...I don't know anything about that area

I am still about an hour and a half east of cherokee. I hear that they are in cherokee, but I've never driven out they to check.
