Becoming the mushroom
    #18967743 - 10/12/13 10:16 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys, I thought I'd tell you about something I thought about while on 3.8g of cubensis. I want to know what you all think!

During the start of the peak, my boyfriend and my two friends and I were in our friend W's basement. My boyfriend and my other friend B were taking an eighth with me, and we had a ton of trippy stuff in the basement: A laser machine, a black light, a ton of glow sticks, awesome speakers, and fluorescent bubble juice.
I remembered thinking that we were in the basement, under the ground... We were in the same general location of the mycelium! I felt a bit uncomfortable with all the intense trippy lights around me while things started to get mind-blowing, and I wanted to go outside. (We would return to the trippy rave-basement for the comedown) We went outside for a bit, and everything looked beautiful. I realized that now that we were above ground, we were like the mushroom, the fruiting body that visibly sits in the heart of the natural world.

Connecting the mushroom to mankind, I thought of the following. The fungus is rooted in the ground, where its mycelium hold the bulk of the life functions and essence, and the fruiting mushroom body emerges into the visible world from the mycelium to complete the cycle.
I think we are very much like the mushroom as mankind: Our life force, our essence, in my opinion at least, is rooted in the higher dimensional order that we do not usually see with the naked eye. The physical body of a human is like the "fruiting body" of the universe, a part of the natural cycle that is formed by the Earth and dies to complete this cycle. As mushrooms, we reside in the visible, physical realm as our essence, or "soul" as some may call it, is rooted in the hidden beautiful universe beyond our comprehension.

So, what do you guys think? Do you agree, or has anyone experienced a similar insight?

I have had similar thoughts. My friend and I talked about how people are like mushrooms and there is a mycelium that connects us all and that this might be love or God.

That is a great way to describe how I was thinking about it. I already believe that we are all connected like that through the cosmic energy of the universe that we are all formed from, so it was an interesting analogy!

I love for in-tune and connected with the universe I feel on psilocybin:heart::mushroom2:

I've never had those kind of thoughts specifically. However, while under influences, I tend to look up to and respect the mushroom. I've had an experience where I just sat down and stared at this big beautiful mushroom that was being colonized by bugs, thanking it. At the moment, it became clear to me that fungi are the most selfless, sacrificing, peaceful, humble, supreme beings that I have ever encountered. As in they exist purely for the benefit of other creatures, and they are completely ok with that, because they are perfect beings. Kind of a hard and silly concept to describe, but it was an amazing feeling that stuck with me!  :inlove3:  :sporedrop:  :inlove3:

I agree completely, thank you!

I respect fungi so much, and psilocybin allows me to appreciate them even more. They really are such beautiful and amazing entities!
