ID help please - P. semilanceata
    #18967301 - 10/12/13 06:29 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hey there,

Went on a hunt this morning for some liberty caps in the mountains.
Found about 80 mushrooms. Appear to have two or three slightly different species though.

Pics:

Habitat:
2 slightly different habitats:
1) Grassy roadside verges
2) Grassy clearings surrounded by fir trees. Pic below:

Gills:
Mix betweeen light and dark gills. Some appear reddish, where the cap it also the same colour. All are medium-spaced (individual gills are clearly distinguishable)

Stem:
4-10cm long,
1-3mm wide,
mixture of light and dark,
Some of the lighter ones have thicker, more chunky stems.

Cap:
5mm - 2cm Diameter,
Mixture of colours from almost white, to creamy, to reddish, to dark brown,
Most caps have nipples on the top. Some of the darker ones were slimy when picking.

Spore print color:
In progress!

Bruising:
Cant spot brusing at the moment

My limited knowledge leads me to believe that most of the shrooms on p2 are good, but not sure about the others.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The first lot are a Conocybe sp. and you should chuck them.

The rest include a lot of Psilocybe semilanceata and you should post bigger shots.

Thanks for your replies. I thought that the ones on the first page were a bit different alright. Here are numbered, larger versions of the original shots:

I've separated the caps from the stems from all mushrooms to get spore prints at the moment. Let me know if any close ups will help.

Are all specimens without dark gills throw-aways?

Thanks

1-37, 40, 44, 49, 52, 56, 70-76, 79 & 84 are not libs. Mostly Conocybe apala or C. tenera (it is hard to say when the caps start to dry).

The others look to be libs.

So I am in agreement with mandrax360 except I believe he missed 46, which is a lib. :hatsoff:

I just came off a huge dose of libs.  Went into the woods late last night and just layed there.  The moon was bright and the clouds were dark.  The black clouds kept trying to snuff out the moons light.  it was a war of light and darkness.  kinda like this heaven/hell thing.  Only darkness wasn't hell, just fear of the unknown.

heading home far off neighbors lights were glowing auora green.  My pants kept swishing when i walked and i was talking to them.  "Im burning you when i get home!"

then my brain broke.
shit/libs/booze/xanex  :rocket:

Many thanks Joie. Looks like I have enough for one dose anyway!
Unfortunately there were two of us hunting, so we'll have to head out again in search of a second dose!

Sprinkles - sounds pretty intense!
