Does pasturizing compost smell?

I've heard it doesn't, and i've heard it does. which is it? Any other comments on the smell? Thanks

It definatly has a smell to it. very distinct. I'd say like dirt though. Someone would notice the smell, but they wouldnt ask, "who just shit their pants"
