Cyan indicators?
    #18965255 - 10/11/13 06:46 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys I've been looking for cyans for the past week but i just cant seem to find any!. I've found nice wood chip beds that i thought were guaranteed to have cyans, but  there no were to be found:P my question is i found these fungi and i want to know if they are good indicators so if they are i can keep looking at that spot...if they arent ill keep looking for more wood chip beds

Habitat:
Woodchips

Also i wanted to know if a field like this would be good for libert caps.

"Indicator species" mean it's the right kind of habitat. So you know now that this particular bed of wood chips gets enough water to support a thriving mushroom population. But if P. cyanescens spores haven't landed there, or they've been outcompeted by other species, you'll never find any no matter how good the habitat is. Keep looking at these beds, but look for more too.
