Baeospora myosura grows from the cones of Spruce and Douglas fir. This is not Baeospora myosura.

Douglas fir is a pine tree. It's also known as the Oregon pine.

It is not. Having pine in one of it's common names does not make it a pine.
It's in the pine family, but is as to the hemlocks and first as to Pinus, unless I'm wrong, which happens. In any event, it is not a pine proper.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

I suppose it could be in the pine family but not a true pine. I was under the impression it was called a fir but was not actually a true fir, but I could have it backwards.
In any case, in my experience anyway, I've found a lot of mushroom guides list mushrooms as growing under pine trees that also grow under Doug Fir. Matsutake is a great example, many of the California-centered guides simply state association with pine but any Oregon or Washington Matsutake hunter knows they can be found underneath Doug Fir trees with sandy soil.

Exactly this. The pine family encompasses pines, larches, hemlocks, firs, etc.
It is indeed not properly a fir either, but is as close to the firs as I beleive to the hemlocks.

The mushroom is too dry to confidently ID, I think, especially since it can't be printed.
