I've used it up to a week later but properly pasteurized sub stored in the right conditions can last even longer, otherwise sponsors wouldn't be able to sell pre pasteurized substrate. Either way it's best to use it as soon as possible so there's no point in making it ahead of time. Also try not to bump your own thread for atleast 24 hours, it's against the rules and unfair to other posters.

I've kept a pre pasteurized compost from a sponsor for more than a month and used it straight out of the fridge with no problems. The bag was even open for couple weeks, wrapped it in a trash bag.

The option of refrigeration didnt even occur to me as an option for prolonging viable substrates and Since Im completely new to preparing my own substrates, the input so far has been most helpful. Eventually, I may do an experiment to determine the specific expirations for commonly utilized substrates at room and refrigerated temperatures for the sake of having the information available. However, for now I havent the spare resources to do so.
