ok so kinda venting here and asking for opinions. Ive had successful grows in the past and just kinda getting irked lately. so ill run you through what I do.
strains from a trusted vender on the shroomery and all where MS.

rinse organic rb 4 or 7 times till they are clean wate and let sit for 14 to 24 hrs never exceeding the 24hrs. Then I put in pot and when the water starts simmering I count 10 minutes on the timer and sometimes sooner. Pull off the stove and drain in a strainer.(barely any bursted rb from looking) After it sits in the strainer for 2 or 3 minutes I spread out on a towel till they are dry and pass the tissue paper test (15 sec) no wet marks. Fill jars, have a hole with polyfill. probably a inche hole. How I make the holes is I take a knife and make a V shape and then fold it either down or up. Does that matter? Then I put polyfill in the holes. not super tight and not super light. Tin foil over the top. put about a inche of water in the pc and then the jars. Ones steam is coming out the top I put the weight on and once it starts perking at 15psi I go for 90minutes. Let it cool. then take the weight off. In the am, when I turn the jars upsidedown the grain seems to be loose and not clumping which is good, just like RR videos. Next is inoculating them. Ive had these syringes for 4 or 5 months. always in the fridge. I let them come to room temp to shake up and get the spores separated more. I know this next step I did a bit over kill, but I did it to make sure. Got a bottle of spray Lysol ( I know oust is better ) sprayed my bathroom a bunch and let it sit. Rubbing alch. on a paper towel wiped down top of lids and syringe and the bathroom top. go into bathroom. needle is still how it came in a plastic sealed packaged. open. connect to syringe and im fairly positive with the plastic cover still on its sterile so I took the cap off and put it threw the polyfill. Squirted 2 cc on each side and pulled out and did the next one. on the third or 4th I heated the needle with a lighter for like 20 seconds. Squirted some solution to cool down in the sink then back threw the polyfill. After this I put the jars in my closet and have it set to 75 80 degrees. Today is day 6 and I see no signs of growth. im not gonna worry till maybe day 12.

Sense then I have another 36 jars that I saw critic's way to set them up and did that the other day. Tyvek squares from a usps envelope. 2 1/4 sized holes (seems small, but its what he did and it works so cant really argue lol). One hole rtv silicone sealed and the square of tyvek sealed under the second hole with silicone. Then im going to innoc it with his fool proof way. Im going to then do the myc. water this way.
anyways, if you have any questions or any tips I would like to hear hopeful ill start seeing growth in some of these jars in the next coming days. Really excited tho:) Just feel like my inoculation procedure isn't 100% and that im gonna get contams, But If I do im PC up some jars with just a inch or two of RB to do the Myc. water with to speed up the whole process.

Then I put in pot and when the water starts simmering I count 10 minutes on the timer and sometimes sooner. Pull off the stove and drain in a strainer.(barely any popped rb from looking) After it sits in the strainer for 2 or 3 minutes I spread out on a towel till they are dry and pass the tissue paper test (15 sec) no wet marks. Are you soaking the rye berries and then putting them in a pot? After the 10 minute simmer you just dump the rye berries into a big colander or strainer and let them sit in it for around 30 minutes while occasionally shaking the colander or strainer to get any water stuck between the grains out. Spreading them out on a towel isn't necessary and it's actually better to leave the rye berries in the colander or strainer because the heat from the rye berries themselves will dry them out. Fill jars, have a hole with polyfill. probably a inche hole(an inch hole for ge is too big). How I make the holes is I take a knife and make a V shape and then fold it either down or up. Does that matter? Then I put polyfill. not super tight and not super light. Tin foil over the top. put about a inche of water in the pc and then the jars. Ones steam is coming out the top I put the weight on and once it starts perking at 15psi I go for 90minutes. Let it cool. then take the weight off. In the am(as soon as the pressure cooker can safely be opened you should take the jars out and shake them to redistribute moisture among the grains), when I turn the jars upsidedown the grain seems to be loose and not clumping which is goo, just like RR videos. Next is inoculating them. Ive had these syringes for 4 or 5 months. always in the fridge. I let them come to room temp to shake up and get the spores separated more. If you're jars were on the wet side to begin with, they are now even wetter with 4cc. .5 cc would have been suffecient

Like make a liquid culture?

Yea, I wasn't going to fill it up like I normally do and just use a small amount of rye berrys so that it will colonize faster and then I can make Myc water faster and then innoc more jars faster
Ill go ahead and do a two layer Tyvek as well.

using felt for a filter> tyvek. It will be hard to suck the water back up if you don't use much grain in your jar.

yea. I mean ill have the silicone hole for the self healing port but yea, itll be a little difficult but not as bad as doing it with polyfill lol. Ive been looking but maybe need to look more for a more specific custom lid for LC.

as of today ( Oct 17th) the jars have shown sign of growth in the past 4 days. Small but noticeable growth. Im going to write this up as slow because it was MS syringe used. So hopefully this weekend or next Monday ill be able to shake them when they get to 30% to help speed up the growth stage. So it seems that it took about 7 days in the beginning to start seeing signs of growth. sense then I have also PC 5 jars and only put about 1/4th rye berrys in the jar in hopes that it will fully coll. faster then the others and will be able to move to water myc. soon and speed up the whole process. But if it takes 7+ days to start seeing growth then theres a chance these new ones might finish up around the same time as the others. w

So I was reading and came across that when kernels burst it actually releases starch(I think its starch at least) that ends up making it harder for the mycelium to colonize and thus making it take more time. So I think from that boiling less is actually better I would imagine. I usually wait till after a bunch of little bubbles start coming to the top and by the time its 10 minutes its at a full on roaring boil. So I think next time im going to try and boil for 5 minutes instead of 10. Im tired of it taking 10+ days to start seeing any growth from a MS. Then it taking even longer then 3 weeks to finish. Anything over 3 weeks from a MS I feel is a fail....
