Just got my Bridgesii, are they really bridgesii? (pics)

Ordered from a popular ebay/amazon dealer, I've heard that in the past some people have received san pedro from him when ordering bridgesii. Just want to confirm that mine are bridgesii, as I can't tell myself based on the pics, and being a cactus newb. This is going to be my first "real" psychadelic experience (unless you count 2nd plat DXM or ~200 chewed heavenly blue morning glory seeds.
On to the pics: http://postimg.org/gallery/82lor9n8/2f0e6776/

also, if they are indeed bridgesii, what dosage recommendations do you have for a first time psychadelic user, eating RAW, as a 5'11 175lbs male? I was thinking around 8", maybe 10. I've done a lot of reading and some people say they were blown away by 7", while others needed 14 or so, but it's all relative I suppose.

Strength varies a great deal from cactus to cactus, there are a multitude of hybrids/mutts out there, getting a definitive ID with any real degree of certainty is going to be tricky. They are active is about all you need to know, suck 'em and see.

This is why I ask, I've heard san pedro can be much less potent, whereas bridgesii is quite consistent and may have natural MAOI's that increase the strength of the experience. If it is san pedro I would need to eat more of it for effects, at least according to the info I've gathered.

Looks good
Realize that dosing by length has two problems... Different thicknesses and variations in potency...
Wih that said.... Those look medium thickness and I would suggest 12 inch
Depends on how much of an experience you want... More or less depending on you
Set and setting is important... Clear a good 11 hrs for the trip
Good vibes!

Judging by the look of the areole and the huge spines cut off at each one there is definitely Bridgesii genetics present. Although how much is anyone's guess. Could be a hybrid of sorts. Looks good to me.

Thanks! They're about 2.5" diameter from point to point, which I believe is around average for bridgesii. I've got a whole weekend and monday and tuesday for fall break off, so I've got all the time I need. I'll go 10 or 12" I think.

wow, natural MAOI's, that could be good and bad.
If thats true you might wanna watch your diet. People can die from MAOI interactions dude!

It's not proven, but regardless MANY people have consumed this species of cactus, no one has had any problems that I've read about. There are many other threads on this species if you're interested. I will be going into it with an empty stomach however, thanks for the concern.

Enough of this bridgesii maoi fucking bullshit. Every time I'm on cactus I get a huge craving for salty ham or beef or chicken and always end up blasting my system with tyramine while I'm peaking. Yet my blood pressure never rises above what it already was during the trip and I'm a ok.
I repeat, enough of this bridgesii has maois bullshit.

It's the flavinoids kaempferol and Quercetin that are responsible for the supposed MAO-A inhibition. These are also found in many kinds of foods. They are reversible too so I doubt eating tyramine is a contradiction with bridgesii.

Eating a real digestive maoi with tyramine is deadly no matter if its reversible or not. But since bridgesii doesn't even have that to any significant degree, you're perfectly safe there. The only reason cactus increases blood pressure is because of mescaline itself.

Looks probably legit but it's impossible to tell for sure without the spines.

Jonathan Ott ate a cheeseburger supposedly after an aya session I believe bridgesii has some flavinoids that induce selective MAO-A inhibition.

Tyramine concentrations would indeed rise a lot even if reversible maois are ingested. I can feel a large blood pressure rise after eating syrian rue no matter how long I fast beforehand. With bridgesii I don't notice much increase in blood pressure, but I feel as though the speedy effects of the mescaline molecule itself are responsible for this.

wow, fuck that. Hes a lucky duck
I really want to try ayahuasca, but I take medication that would conflict with the MAOI's in a deadly way.

actually lots of phenethylamines, even amphetamines and as someone said some found in food, can bind to MAO and inhibit it, so there may be some but.....
When comets are crashing in front of your eyes, colors are running out of walls, and you are so euphoric that you feel like a glowing ball of warm light, that isn't an MAO that's mescaline.
Those look like bridge. And also, are there any signs of the spines growing long? I don't think pedro grows long spines, it grows fuzzy ones.

MESCALINE FOR LIFE!!!
Mescaline could be the worlds problem solver if all these dumbfucks around the world started taking the almighty mental medicine.
Send me some Achuma cutting, you bastard. I need to trip again hahaha. Are you still eating Cactus like it's a staple?
