Deionized Distilled Spring Purified Tap Mineral
The sad truth is my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to water.... and I just realized it. I know distilled is good for spore syringes and agar and thats it.
Which water is best? Are there certain waters that do better for certain procedures. In example: humidifier, misting, dunking, making a sub, preparing grains, making a casing, lc, etcetera?
Are there certain waters I should avoid completely for cultivation and/or processes pertaining to? I hope I get a good discussion out of this considering im thinking it might do better in the advanced mycology forum.
Thanks guys!

Tap water, rain water, pond water, toilet water, etc.....anything but distilled.

Distilled.
Only use it for spore syringes.
Tap water works for everything else.

Distilled is terrible for everything but spore syringes. It's not good for agar either. Agar gets PCed and the minerals in any other kind of water except DI water will be beneficial. Distilled is good for the humidifier because it won't leave deposits and car batteries.
Spring water is usually municipal tap water bottled from a natural spring. The city I live in bottles the same water that comes out of my tap as spring water.
I don't know about using mineral water. I never purify my water and DI water is similar to distilled as it contains hardly any trace minerals.

Most humidifier's instructions will tell you to use de-mineralized or distilled water so that it won't leave deposits on your machine.

A humidifier does not replace misting.
And no, tap water does not cause bruising.
